Downtown San Diego Real Estate It’s Not All The Same

byadmin

Downtown San Diego real estate can vary greatly. When you consider downtown you are considering a lifestyle not just a place to live. Getting the most out of your real estate investment means have a space that you will absolutely love and that offers you all the amenities that you expect.

The Difference

Real estate can be at a premium which can make you feel like you have to make a rush decision BUT before you make any rash decisions about your real estate options you want to make sure that you are getting all that you can out of the deal. There is a building right in the heart of downtown that you can use as your guide post:

 • Individualized services to cater to your personal needs
 • Concierge services
 • Porter services
 • Luxury car fleet
 • Boat sharing
 • Controlled access entry/elevators/parking
 • Terrace pool

It is hard to find a building that offers the level of amenities and services that can beat the ones above. Some would say impossible but if you are dreaming of the lux lifestyle than those are a short list of the services you should expect from your new residence.

There is a noticeable difference between prime and super prime real estate. The word pampered comes to mind when you think of what super prime real estate means. Prime real estate offers everything you expect and so much more.

Go Right to the Source

You can save yourself the hassle of comparing properties and go right to the highest standard there is in the downtown area. Pacific Gate By Bosa is setting a new standard for what real estate can be. Before you buy anywhere else or make a commitment to buy you want to take a look at what you should have!

Greenpeace tries to thwart Chesapeake Bay fishing fleet

Wednesday, August 10, 2005

Greenpeace activists scattered schools of menhaden bait fish in the Chesapeake Bay on Tuesday when fishing ships belonging to Omega Protein Corp. were about to drop their sceine nets.

The Omega fleet consisted of two spotter planes and four fishing boats with eight tenders. Greenpeace arrived with four fast moving out-board motor boats, manned by thirteen activists, who attempted to drive away the fish. The Coast Guard was called in and ended the confrontation peacefully.

The Houston-based Omega Protein Corporation is the largest processor and distributor of protein-rich menhaden and fish oil products in the United States. The company accounts for nearly 90% of the entire East Coast menhaden catch.

An Omega spokesman Toby Gascon said of Greenpeace, “They have now demonstrated that their real agenda is to put Omega out of business, even if it means risking the safety of Omega’s fishermen.” Their fleet is out of Reedville, Virginia, now a top U.S. fishing port due to the recent Omega processing plant opened there.

Chesapeake Bay menhaden are considered an important food source for fish species popular with sports fisherman. They are also, next to oysters, a prime filter feeder in bay waters. The bay oyster population has suffered drastic declines from disease over the last two decades. Studies of menhaden populations are still inconclusive as scientists try to determine the overall number of bay menhaden.

Greenpeace says the species is near historic lows and predators that depend on the fish as a food source, such as striped bass, show signs of suffering from malnutrition and poor body condition.

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, had praise for Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich, and the state’s Department of Natural Resources. They secured a commitment from the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) to seek a cap on commercial harvesting of Atlantic Menhaden.

A coalition of recreational anglers and environmentalists, called Menhaden Matter, also joined the debate by saying coast-wide population of Atlantic Menhaden has fallen to near record lows. They are also against an encroachment by Omega into Chesapeake waters.

The issue is a cap proposed by ASMFC on the menhaden harvest. The Board recommended a Draft Addendum to limit the menhaden harvest to 110,400 metric tons, which is the average over five years of consecutive declines in harvests for the species. The limit would apply to Atlantic and in-land waters of the species. The proposed cap is for years 2006 and 2007 and open to public debate.

ASMFC recently rejected an offer by Omega that would voluntarily cap their harvest at 135,000 metric tons annually for the next four years. They noted Omega also seeks to reopen some waters in Maryland and New Jersey which are currently closed to industrial purse seine operations. A public hearing is scheduled in Alexandria, Virginia in the next few days.

Omega says that ASMFC’s own reports indicate the population levels of Atlantic menhaden are healthy.

A Chesapeake Bay Foundation senior scientist, William J. Goldsborough, said, “I believe that a cap on the purse seine catch of menhaden at current levels, covering the total catch as well as removals from Chesapeake Bay, would be a prudent measure to adopt.”

Whenever you pass a slot, you get a ball, which you have to grab and get the bonuses in the form of rings, lives and shields. Added to this, the black colored balls bump you down, while the transparent ones are empty. When you fall from the screen, this stage in sonic games ends.

In the earlier version of sonic online games, you would have been in the emerald stages as bonus stage, but in this version, you use the star posts to enter into bonus stages. However, the emerald levels can be reached if you jump through a huge golden ring. You should identify these rings which are hidden inside the scenery. But the eligibility of collection of rings is not accepted to get into the emerald level in the sonic online games.

Although, most of the stages in these sonic games series are three dimensional, some of them are flat. If you collect minimum of 50 rings, you will be allowed to continue and collect all the rings, to gain perfect bonus, which is worth a life or fifty thousand points. When all the blue orbs are hit, you will be entitled to get an emerald, but the red ones will end the sonic games.

Blair launches third and final manifesto

Wednesday, April 13, 2005

Tony Blair today launched the Labour Party’s 112 page manifesto for a third term, entitled “Britain: Forward not back”, at London’s Mermaid Theatre this afternoon, promising not to increase income tax or VAT.

Blair, with Chancellor Gordon Brown, described the manifesto, which focused on economic policy, as “radical”, “quintessentially New Labour” and giving people the “chance to succeed and make the most of what they have”.

As well as economic promises, the manifesto pledged better social housing, increased funding and reform of education and the National Health Service and the introduction of community police patrols. The manifesto does not promise a freeze on National Insurance, the income-linked tax which funds the NHS and pensions.

Conservative leader Michael Howard said that the British people had “heard it all before”, and reiterated claims that Labour would have to increase taxes significantly in the third term.

Deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats, Sir Menzies Campbell, whose party was the only mainstream party consistently against the Iraq war, said Labour would “not be judged by their promises, but by what they have done”, adding that Labour have not kept their previous promises.

The Conservative Party and Green Party launched their manifestos yesterday, and the Liberal Democrats launch theirs tomorrow.

Death toll from Borneo bridge collapse reaches eleven

Monday, November 28, 2011

The death toll from the weekend suspension bridge collapse on the Indonesian island of Borneo has risen from four to eleven. Search and rescue teams continue to look for bodies in the Mahakam River.

The number of wounded is currently 39 injured; reports from locals suggest 33 people remain missing at the scene in East Kalimantan’s Kutai Kartanegara district, where “Kalimantan’s Golden Gate Bridge” linked the towns of Tenggarong and the regional capital, Samarinda. A six-month-old baby is among the dead.

Cars, motorbikes, and buses all fell into the Mahakam River when the bridge came down during repairs. Another car was left overturned and balanced upon wreckage over the water. State-owned builders PT Hutama Karya completed the bridge about a decade ago in the image of California’s Golden Gate Bridge. A cable on the 720-metre structure is thought to have failed as workers dealt with it; six of the repair crew were reported missing yesterday. It had been the longest suspension bridge in Borneo.

Eyewitnesses described heavy traffic at the time of the collapse, and one survivor said he left his truck to investigate a traffic jam. Some people were left trapped by debris as the bridge came down. “It happened so fast, only about 30 seconds,” according to National Disaster Management Agency spokesman Sutopo Nugoroho.

National search and rescue head Daryatmo said yesterday cranes will attempt to move debris today, with new reports saying echo-sounding equipment will be used to check it is safe to begin lifting. It is believed the bodies of more victims will be found trapped in vehicles beneath the water, which is 35-40 metres deep. Visibility is poor, and one official explained authorities are still unsure how many vehicles are on the riverbed.

“The above-water search is continuing, but underwater operations have not been carried out because we’re worried that the bridge’s pylons are unstable and could collapse any time,” said Nugoroho today. He explained that bodies had washed onto the riverbanks overnight and were recovered today.

The president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, has sent three ministers to the site to investigate the accident, while Bambang Widaryatmo, head of East Kalimantan’s police, promised “parties found to be negligent will be prosecuted”. The government has promised a replacement ferry service. The river is closed to boats as rescue operations continue, and a 22-strong team has been dispatched from the national police, comprising six forensics experts, five disaster victim identification specialists, and eleven investigators. They are there to augment the East Kalimantan Police. Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih yesterday visited survivors in Parikesit Hospital and promised them medical treatment at government expense.

Some people swam ashore after falling, with the aftermath filled with screams. Survivor Syakrani, 24, yesterday asserted “The authorities should have closed the bridge if it was under repair.” His words were followed by a Jakarta Globe editorial declaring the accident “unacceptable”.

The Globe went on to comment upon suggestions corruption may have played a role; “It is too early to point fingers and look to place blame, but if shoddy materials were used in the building of the bridge, those responsible must answer to the public.” Another suggestion is coal barges striking the bridge may have weakened it. Local coal company Harum Energy lost five percent of its share value today amid fears the river blockage will hamper their ability to ship coal.

Samarinda’s seen a population and construction boom lately. A few years have seen the population triple and the construction of a large mosque, and a sports stadium; an airport and port are set to follow. However, the Corruption Eradication Commission warns 70% of the corruption it investigates concerns government contracts and up to 40% of money earmarked for infrastructure ends up stolen.

Liposuction Risks And Issues You Must Be Aware Of

Submitted by: Rena Graham

Liposuction is as popular as other cosmetic surgeries such as a facelift, a nose job or a tummy tuck. Many people have had it done because it has proven to be the fastest way to trim your size and to shape those bodies than months of attempts to burn those stubborn fats. But aside from its list of benefits, it is also important to know the issues related to the procedure, should you be highly considering it. This will help you prepare for it or prevent any of it from happening.

Liposuction is a highly invasive procedure and can put you at risk for infection and bleeding. These risks can lead to serious complications if left unguarded, or it can create poor results if not managed more promptly. This is why it is important to choose a reputable surgeon who employs strict aseptic techniques and good judgment when performing the procedure. Doing so will prevent introducing bacteria into the body, or accidentally puncturing vital organs in the process.

Liposuction is only advised for those individuals are within the 30 percentile of their desired body weight. So for those who are obese, it would be advised that they drop their weight to a safer range to prevent serious complications.

One fact that should be known by everyone considering liposuction is that the results are not permanent. Yes, the fat cells will be suctioned out of your body permanently but this does not mean that you can maintain that new figure without healthy diet and regular exercise. When you fail to change your habits, the fat cells that were left will increase in size as it fills the entire area where the previous cells were located. Usually this will come back after a year, and the fat deposit increase is more concentrated on the areas on top of the surgical site.

Excessive liposuction work is also another problem since it doesn t always mean that this will leave you with a slimmer and sexier form. The removal of too much fat at one time can result to excessive skin sagging and denting in some areas.

A negative reaction to anesthesia is also another risk to liposuction. Adverse reactions might include generalized swelling, difficulty breathing or a generalized allergic reaction. In tumescent liposuction for instance, the patient will had the tendency to experience shock due to the large amount of fluid that can be suctioned off the body.

Liposuction prices usually run around 4-5 figures making it unreachable for those who are not earning that much and yet longing for this kind of treatment. This leads some patients to search for more affordable prices through cheap services which can be very dangerous because most clinics who are charging this much often provide less than sterling service which undermines safety and the success of the procedure.

Liposuction has the tendency to cause internal blood clots and these can be highly dangerous because it can lodge to certain vessels which can either cause cardiac or pulmonary problems. For this ensure that you eat a healthy diet and you choose a good doctor who can closely check it intraoperatively.

So before you finally decide to pay the liposuction cost, make sure that you know both the good and bad side for you to reach an informed decision. It is really worth the risk? If you are careful and prepared enough, it actually is!

No oil spillage after platform explodes in the Gulf of Mexico

Thursday, September 2, 2010

An oil platform owned by Mariner Energy has exploded in the Gulf of Mexico throwing thirteen people into the water, reports indicate. All thirteen men who fell into the water have been accounted for, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. No injuries were reported. Smoke was billowing from the oil rig named Vermilion 380, which is reported to still be on fire.

The blast occurred at around 9:19 a.m., approximately 80 miles south of Vermilion Bay off the coast of Louisiana. The Coast Guard confirms the platform was producing oil and gas at the time it exploded. They earlier reported a one mile long and 100 foot wide oil sheen which was spotted at the site of the explosion shortly after authorities responded to the scene, but later backtracked saying they could not confirm the presence of a sheen. Coast Guard chief petty officer John Edwards of the US Coast Guard earlier said that the platform, “was not actively producing any product.” Mariner Energy also released a statement earlier saying no oil sheen was spotted.

“In an initial flyover, no hydrocarbon spill was reported,” said Mariner Energy in a press release following the explosion. “The cause is not known, and an investigation will be undertaken. During the last week of August 2010, production from this facility averaged approximately 9.2 million cubic feet of natural gas per day and 1,400 barrels of oil and condensate.” According to Bureau of Energy Management Regulation and Enforcement spokesperson Melissa Schwartz, the platform was authorized to produce natural gas and oil at those depths, but “there were ongoing maintenance activities underway” which caused it to stop producing. The platform sits in about 2,500 feet of water, though some reports put the platform in 340 feet of water.

As a result of the explosion and fire, Bobby Jindal, the governor for the state of Louisiana said that the Vermillion 380 platform had been “shut” and that oil flowing from the bottom of the Gulf has been stopped. At least 6 other platforms are said to be connected to the well that Vermilion 380 was part of. Jindal also said the fire was burning due to flammable materials on the platform.

Apache Corporation, which has agreed to, but has not yet completed a merger with Mariner Energy, did not comment on whether the explosion would have any effect on the deal. The vice-president Bob Dye told Wikinews that “Apache and Mariner agreed to merge in April, 2010, however, the transaction has not yet closed so Mariner remains the operator of this platform”.

All 13 people have been rescued by an oil support vessel and have been transported to a nearby platform. Edwards earlier told MSNBC that all those who were in the water were “wearing some sort of an immersion suit that protects them from the water. Right now we’re focused on search and rescue and then, ultimately, as this thing progresses we’re going to be looking into the cause.”

The explosion comes only four months after the Deepwater Horizon oil rig run by BP exploded in April, resulting in a massive oil spill. The platform is located about 200 miles west of the Deepwater incident.
